Non-Alcoholic Options in Central Kentucky
It’s Dry January as I write this, but I love non-alcoholic options year round. Between mocktails and NA Beers, there are lots of options here in the Lexington area!
*Note: The exact menu options discussed are available as of writing and may change in the future.
Last Updated: 1/21/2024
📍 33 Staves (The Origin Hotel)
4174 Rowan, Lexington, KY
33 Staves features 4 fun mocktail offerings: the Sweet Sunset, the Strawberry Punch, the Peach Bellini, and the Wonka Water. I have to admit - the name Wonka Water caught my eye at first, but then I noticed the Peach boba topping the bellini and knew that would be my future go-to.
📍 Bella Notte
3715 Nicholasville Rd.
Bella Notte, more of a local restaurant than a bar, is a great place to get dinner AND a mocktail. They offer two mocktails on their current winter menu, a ginger beer mule and the blueberry tropics. They also have several Italian cream sodas available with many flavors like blood orange, passionfruit, and hazelnut.
📍 The Blushery
If you’re looking for something different, The Blushery offers 4 different NA wines: a Sauvignon, a Chardonnay, a Sparkling, and a Rose. The Blushery specializes in wine so they’re a great spot to trust to get good NA options.
📍 County Club
555 Jefferson St. Lexington, KY
County Club rotates their menus monthly but does seem to always make room for some NA options that now officially appear on the page. They keep a rotating can of Athletic Brewing stocked, and currently have 3 mocktails listed: a negroni, a spritz, and an old fashioned.
📍 District 7 Social
1170 Manchester St. #160, Lexington, KY
Espresso Martinis are one of my favorite drinks, so an espresso MOCKtini absolutely makes my list. The other NA drinks on their menu are a Pom-Ginger Mocktini, a Grapefruit Thyme Spritzer, a Virgin Bloody Mary, and a Blackberry Lemonade.
📍 Drake’s
Hamburg: 1880 Pleasant Ridge Dr. Lexington, KY
Leestown: 1725 Sharkey Way, Lexington, KY
Lexington: 3347 Tates Creek Rd. Lexington, KY
Nicholasville: 390 E Brannon Rd. Nicholasville, KY
📍 Dreaming Creek Brewery
109 E. Irvine St. Richmond, KY
Dreaming Creek keeps a large variety of NA options on hand. They’ve got NA beers from Sober Carpenter, canned mocktails from Clever Mocktails, and house made drinks.
📍 East End Tap & Table
333 East Main St. #180
📍 The Elkhorn Tavern
1200 Manchester St. Lexington, KY
Elkhorn keeps it short and sweet but makes sure to hit the classics with their offerings. They have both a Shirley Temple and a Blackberry Punch on their mocktail menu.
📍 Ethereal Brewing
Distillery District: 1224 Manchester St. Lexington, KY
Public House: 102 W Vine St. Lexington, KY
Slice House: 401 S. Limestone, Lexington, KY
Ethereal has a TON of options between their various locations. Their Distillery District location has the most, with several NA beers from Athletic brewing and Best Day Brewing, a featured mocktail, and soda options. Their Downtown Public House location has a few NA beers from Athletic brewing and a different featured mocktail. The Campus-located Slice House location has many soda and energy drink options.
📍 Georgie’s Social House
161 North Limestone
Georgie’s is the new downtown sister bar to Centro. Their house made cocktails come made with a lot of care, as their mocktails do as well. They offer the Costanza, a NA tiki drink, and the Bluth, a NA black tea-based drink
📍 Harvey’s Bar (The Grove)
200 W Main St. Lexington, KY
The Grove is one of my favorite spots in Lexington. When I’m not sipping my usual Nurse Kelly cocktail, I absolutely love the mocktails. While their online menu has 2 listed, they truly have limitless options. Because Harvey’s prides itself on its cocktails, they have dozens of juices and house made syrups that they love combining to create new drinks. To get you started, the post shown here shows a Lavender Lemonade and a Blueberry mocktini and their site lists a NA McAdam’s and blackberry mojito. But come to them with flavor profile you like and they’ll blow your mind with a number of various creations. For the beer lovers, they also carry a NA Coors Edge.
📍 Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse
101 W Vine St. Lexington, KY
Our local Jeff Ruby’s location currently offers 4 mocktails and 2 NA beers. The drink shown here is the Lavender-Lemon fizz but my favorite of the list is the Dreamsicle mocktail, which you can see int he background of some of the photos in my own post here. For beer, they serve two classic options from Athletic Brewing and Heineken.
📍 Lockbox (21C Museum Hotel)
167 W Main St. Lexington, KY
Lockbox has been in the mocktail game for a WHILE, so they know what they’re doing. The three shown here are The Girl Next Door, Pretty in Pink, and The Orange Dream - of which I truly could not pick a favorite (though I think out of all of them I have ordered The Girl Next Door most often). In addition to these, their new menu also includes a fourth mocktail: Amarilllo by Morning. For the beer drinkers, they have a Sober Carpenter Belgian Blonde on their menu as well.
📍 Lussi Brown Coffee Bar
114 Church St. Lexington, KY
📍 Mirror Twin Brewing Co.
725 National Ave. Lexington, KY
Mirror Twin periodically showcases interesting mocktails, but keeps a pretty good NA selection year round. They have NA beers from both Athletic Brewing and Sober Carpenter, as well as NA canned cocktails from Clever Cocktail Company (currently a mojito and a margarita). They also have their full cocktail list on their bar side that you can always request mocktail versions of.
📍 OBC Kitchen
3373 Tates Creek Rd. Lexington, KY
OBC offers several incredible looking mocktails. They have NA versions of a mule, a daiquiri, a ramos fizz, an Irish coffee (my favorite of the bunch), an old fashioned, and a margarita - and all look just as good if not better than their cocktail counterparts.
📍 The Thirsty Fox (Zim’s Cafe)
The Thirsty Fox offers 2 different Athletic Brewing cans - an IPA and a Golden Ale - as well as 2 mocktails: the Discuss Discus and the Lemon-Pea-ade
📍 Villainous
191 Jefferson St. Lexington, KY
A fun fact about Villainous: Two of their bartenders live alcohol-free, so they always have great NA drinks available. They have several NA beers available including ones from Athletic Brewing, Stiegl, Clausthaler, and Budweiser. They also carry Marley Mellow Mood CBD infused drinks, and mix their own mocktails that they call ‘magic potions’. These are my absolutely favorite as they come in a potion bottle and a separate glass you can pour into.
📍 The Void Sake
949 National Ave. #190, Lexington, KY
The Void has recently began moving into the NA space, starting with this NA Amazake. In addition to this, they plan on expanding and adding a mocktail menu once they’ve moved in to their new location.
📍 West Sixth Brewing
501 W 6th St. #100, Lexington KY
817 E Market St. #101, Louisville, KY
4495 Shadrick Ferry Rd. Frankfort, KY
As you can tell from this post, West Sixth has a massive NA offering. On their Lexington location menu, they name 2 Athletic Brewing Beers, a house-made NA Hibiscus Grapefruit Seltzer, and both NA Lemonade and Ginger Beer slushees. Their Frankfort location names the same Athletic Beers, as well as Ale8, Elixir Kombucha, and Grapefruit Hop Water.
📍 Whiskey Bear Bar
3195 Beaumont Centre Cir. #100, Lexington, KY
Whiskey Bear Bar has had mocktails for as long as I can remember them, and they were actually the first place I saw mocktails actually listed on the menu (so this is another spot that really knows what they’re doing). Their Cabana Drink mocktail is my favorite of their offerings, but they also have a Black Sage Lemonade and a Patio Sipper. If you really want to elevate your drink, you can also add 15mg of batch KY CBD oil to your mocktail (or cocktail for that matter).
