‘Pies, Pies, Pies’… Why I Love Missy’s Pies
My main goal when I made this blog was to tell y'all about the awesome local food in Lexington, so here's my first go! I got to go by Missy's Pies this last week and meet some of the people over there, and of course got to try some of my favorite dessert in Lexington. And I'm SO excited to get to tell you all about this amazing #KentuckyProud brand!
Missy's was born out of the overcrowded Ramsey's kitchen that had no time to make their few pies on the menu. Now this small add-on has turned into it's own small business! (The building it's in now actually used to be an old Shell station - how cool!)
Now this small adorable building is the home to one of the best dessert places in Lexington. And one of my favorite things about this shop is that it's not just a full-pie-for-your-holidays shop. This building, decorated with Missy's signature teal all over, has the cutest little sitting room! They sell pies by the slice that you can take into the sitting room and enjoy right there. And because they want to utilize this perfect room, they even offer some select lunch foods from Ramsey's. It's right in the middle of all the Woodland uptown shops, so its the most convenient place to just swing in on an afternoon out for a quick bite.
And if the cute eat-in part isn't great enough, this store is Kentucky Proud certified - a store I'm more than excited to support. I love that I'm able to support local and keep my money in the local economy.
I got to try a couple of the pies while I was there and I still haven't been able to find a pie there I haven't loved. While I was in, I tried the Chocolate Cream pie and the Chocolate Praline - the pie of the month. Although I do have to admit, nothing will ever be as great as their peanut butter pie. But the best part of this pie shop? They LOVE doing giveaways! They recently decided that with every 250 Instagram followers they get, they're giving away a free pie. If that's not the best reason on earth to follow a local business, then you and I obviously don't feel the same way about pie. You can find them at @Missyspieslex !
So in conclusion (Sorry, I'm an engineer y'all, can't write without using those correct transition phrases), you all NEED to check this place out if you haven't. This shop is not only amazing but local and Kentucky Proud. That's pretty much all you could ask for out of a restaurant (or in this case dessert shop)!
