The Lexington Warehouse Block: A Whole Day of Fun in One Place

If you follow my Instagram, you very quickly notice I am a HUGE fan of all of the businesses in the Warehouse Block. I love that there are so many diverse places in such a small area. It's enough to keep anyone entertained for a while.

Hidden out of direct sight, the Warehouse Block is Walton, National, and North Ashland Avenues, on the east side of Lexington. Right off of Winchester Road, and a 7 minute drive from U.K.'s campus, the area is super easy to get to. There's street parking and parking lots everywhere, making it just as easy to visit as well. There's no reason to not check this place out! With over 30 small businesses in this small community, there's food, beer, fitness, and shopping for absolutely everyone.

Centered is a whole business focused on holistic healing and personal development. They offer a range of services including meditation, life coaching, therapeutic massage, acupuncture, and aromatherapy. I got to spend a night here getting a cup of tea then sitting in on a meditation session. (Bonus points if you can find me in the picture of the class!😉). As someone who has always been interested in holistic healing but never really tried it, I was incredibly surprised at how calming this session was. Even in such a short session, I left feeling so much more relaxed than I came in feeling. I'm so intrigued and ready to jump into the world of holistic healing after this session. You all will for sure see me here in the future, checking out the tons and tons of wonderful options Centered offers. If you're interested in joining me, your first yoga class is free! Just check out their site linked above in the title.

FEATHER + BLADE

Feather and Blade is one of my favorite visits in the Warehouse Block! While this isn't somewhere you visit often, the visits are life-changing. Feather and Blade is a cosmetic tattoo boutique that does mostly microblading, but also offers freckles, areola repigmentation, and soon to be lip blush. It's an awesome business of incredibly strong women supporting the personal needs of other women and people in the community! I went to Feather and Blade my first time a little over a year ago to get my brows microbladed, and now go yearly to get them touched up. Having my brows microbladed has been hands down one of the best decisions of my life, and I'm so glad I went to Feather and Blade for them. The staff is so kind and knowledgeable, they make getting any of these services done incredibly easy. They have all the information you could ever need on their website, walk you through the whole process when you get there, they check every step with you to make sure you're happy, and overall make the process so pleasant. I felt absolutely no pain the entire process, had an easy aftercare experience, and now absolutely love my brows.

Now I know these pictures are NOT stellar but here's my microblading results below and I'm obsessed! The left is from my first session a year ago when I first got them done. Then, in the middle, this is the "before" from my yearly touch up session! Brows are still on fleek but I just like to keep the color up to date and all, ya know? And then of course the "after" from my perfecting session a couple weeks ago. Over here waking up with the best brows ever and I've never been happier!

And if their work wasn't enough, one of my other favorite things about Feather and Blade is that they support women in the community through giving as well! The owner, Holly's mission is "helping people feel comfortable in their own skin". She does this through her work, but is also passionate about supporting non-profits that serve the women of Kentucky, like The Nest, Girls on the Run, and Dress for Success. Quite frankly, this business is one of my favorites in Lexington and you can't go wrong supporting these wonderful people!

LA PETITE DELICAT

I'm all seriousness when it comes to sweets, especially macarons, and La Petite is the best in town! La Petite is a small boutique coffee shop that specializes in the amazing french dessert. I visit here like weekly to get my fill of coffee and macarons. They have so many different options of flavors, and usually even make special ones for holidays! There Christmas and Valentine's Day features are shown below.

La Petite offers more than just normal macarons though. They often have ice cream macaron sandwiches in their freezer, along with various other pastries on the counter. They offer macaron gift sets, macaron towers, and even macaron baking classes! This is one of my staple places for coffee and a quick snack, small gifts, and anything else I could need!

LUCIA'S WORLD EMPORIUM

Lucia's is Lexington's #1 place for everything fair-trade. They offer an array of "eclectic" items such as jewerly, home items, clothing, and artwork by artisans from all over the world. Lucia's works to empower every small business owner and artisan they work with, and I love getting the chance to do the same by shopping there.

They offer so many sustainable items that you could need. They've got clothing, TONS of jewelry, kitchen items, dryer balls, even chocolate. I've been stocking up on SO much jewelry there, and I've got my eye on a set of the dryer balls. I'm also loving those little wood platters in the picture above, they'd be the cutest for serving!

Mirror Twin is one of my FAVORITE casual hangouts. They have the best space for spending a night just chilling out with friends. They have two sides. The first is where trivia is, and where they have beer and casual pizzas from Rolling Oven and allow adorable furry friends. The second side has long tables and a small couched area. In addition to beer, they have liquors and even some more fancy options from Rolling Oven. Both sides are a great time, but I usually find myself on the liquor side because pietinis (picture above). Either way, this is a great place to spend a few hours just talking with friends over beer and a great bite of pizza. If you haven't been here yet, this is a MUST check out.

Make sure to stay tuned, because this is not even close to all the fun in the Warehouse Block! I'll be lengthening this post in pieces as I get inside looks at all the businesses in my favorite place.😉
